You should wonder about a government that ignores the basis for its legitimacy.

A step in the right direction

In Tuscaloosa. Alabama, students and teachers are being taught to defend themselves by attacking an armed intruder, rather than cowering under their desks while waiting to die. Of course, I find the whole "throw whatever is handy at them" to be a bit lacking, unless what's handy are well-aimed 230 grain expanding bullets moving close to the speed of sound. But it is a good first step (he said, tongue firmly in cheek).

Now, let's take that next step and allow staff and teachers who possess a valid concealed carry permit to be armed while on school property. And the next step, which is to allow anyone with a valid permit to be armed while on school property.

Because that journey to reclaiming our rights will be taken one step at a time.
